Hard Rubbish

It is the yearly hard rubbish collection time around these parts. There is something quite surreal about everyone getting their insides outside and showing off all their junk. The whole suburb looks like a tip. I, of course, got my camera out.

Hard rubbish collection often provides surreal sights well worth photographing – especially now with street artist up-cycling by drawing on tv sets, mattresses and sofa cushions. I’m always interested in the generations of stuff (televisions, computers, gas stoves, that get thrown out in a particular year of redundancy.

    • Sadly, the kids of Croxton weren’t showing their creativity by way of any up-cycling this year. I like to think it was all the rain, not the lack of talent in these parts 🙂
